Tune Spotlight #6 : Magic City Hippies

If you’re a fan of Tame Impala, you will love the Magic City Hippies. However, don’t think that they are Tame Impala copycats, because these cats have a sound and style unlike any other indie funk band. Although Robby Hunter started as a one man band performing at parties in the Miami area, the Magic City Hippies quickly grew with the help of Pat Howard and John Coughlin. With the release of Hippie Castle EP, they were sprung into the international fame as the EP’s lead song “Fanfare” rose to #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral Top 50. These guys can’t seem to make a bad record and their full length album is something to keep an eye out for.
